Hoboken cultural activity - Frank Sinatra, Maxwell House coffee, how to make knots  2006-08-07

Along the north end of the (newly renovated) Hoboken waterfront (http://www.hobokenmuseum.org), near Weehawken is a small exhibit covering the history of hoboken.    Highlights include the fact that ...

·         Frank Sinatra was born and raised there

·         the first game of baseball was 'allegedly' played there in 1846 (despite other claims about Cooperstown, NY

·         Maxwell House coffee had a plant right on the water front until about 15 years ago

·         commercial port activity

Also given the latter, there was a demonstration of how to make nautical knots, and there is much more to this than you might think.
