During the recent trip to Arizona, in
addition to a fascinating visit to a nuclear missille silo, another day of our
honeymoon as spent at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tuscon, which included a
tour of the US Air Force boneyard at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. This boneyard is located in the desert as a
storage area for air force equipment being stored for various purposes in a
location with very low humidity, thus reducing corrosion. It is one of several military and civilian
facilities located in the southwest.

Below are photos from the both musuem and
the air force boneyard. That is an Air
Force One jet used by JFK in the early 1960's along with JFK's Air Force 1
bathroom. Then a cold war toy and space
shuttle tire. Finally, a picture of the
boneyard at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and Sen. John McCain's medals (he is a
native of Arizona).
